Finally, I am aware that there are people dying. This is a first world problem. Doesn't mean that my strong feelings of dissatisfaction are not valid.
Also, yes there were positives to my stay but this is too lengthy already.
1. Yes, completely. It's also worth remembering that Gold Elite is barely a status that holds any real tangible benefits. Spire Ambassador is easily obtainable by buying Ambassador and using credit card spend to get Spire (no hotel stays required).
2. Compensation for what exactly? If you haven't complained at the time and got the resolution that you want, it's probably too late. Have you been left financially out of pocket to warrant compensation? The only real issue I see for compensation is the toilet not working prorerly and this is easily resolved by insisting on a room change. Only issue with that is if the hotel is full.
3. It appears that you were expecting a 5* service from a CP hotel. If 'detailsmatter', you'd be better staying at a genuine 5* hotel next time.
