The fit/tightness of F/J/C/PY airline kit eye/sleeping masks

(Mods: I think this is the correct forum/thread and there is no similar thread, but if not, please move to the appropriate space!)

This topic is primarily meant to be about airline issued eye masks, and not the store-bought variety (I understand there may be incidental/anecdotal/tangential discussions about all eye masks in general, and I'm quite sure that I could find a very high-quality and well-fitting eye mask from a store (!), but my intended question is geared towards airline eye masks.)
I am also aware that many airline eye-masks are produced by the same vendors who sell similar eye mask products to the everyday consumer, however, this may not always be the case.

I've tried using eye masks from several airlines and find many to be too tight. I don't have a physically large cranium (I'm sure those who know me will agree!).
LO, AC, NH, UA, OZ, LH, AF, LX, etc.

Are they designed this way on purpose (perhaps not to exclude smaller heads where a looser strap could lead to it slipping off)?
For those who use eye masks on a regular basis, do they prefer it to be worn tightly so as to not to slip off, block out all light from the sides, etc.?
Which airlines offer eye masks with adjustable straps (if any)?

I used to not use them because having something touching my face while sleeping was uncomfortable. But recently, I have become increasingly used to it... but still find most to be too tight.
