Routing might be an issue in this case, even if it's a *A award. Anyway, it will take at least 6 months until SAA will be a member of the *A.
Kiwi might be right regarding the 3-region award. While United is more flexible in this respect, M&M will probably interpret the rules more tightly, especially since according to the *A chart a trip between Europe and Tanzania costs only 100,000 miles in F as opposed to 140,000 miles between Europe and South Africa. So your desired award, should it eventually become available, will at least cost 140,000 miles, probably more.
