I was reading this Post and was wondering if anyone here had any thoughts on the current thread "Lifetime Status" where there is speculation that AA may alter the rules of how this status is accumulated.

I would guess that the previous Posts were made by AA members within easy striking distance of 2 MM. If there was a chance that AA would alter the benefits of Lifetime Status in the very near future, would you still wait until March to pass the 2MM mark? (Please note that there is no evidence to suggest it is forthcoming only speculation at this time)

I personally could transfer a ton of Starwood Points to make 2 MM but am debating if I should do so now with the possibility of AA changes or wait a bit as it would be nice to have VIPs last yet another year.
