That sucks, but on my last three Hilton stays, the breakfast situation was:
- Hilton property- no F&B ops so nothing offered for breakfast
- Tapestry- no F&B ops in the morning, so nothing offered for breakfast
- Tapestry- literally a coffee, a juice and a muffin
So it's a true downgrade for those properties that are still offering real breakfast, but at the same time an upgrade for those properties that aren't offering anything for breakfast. Although $15 per room seems pretty stingy, $30 per room would be more reasonable as it would actually cover something for two people.
$15 doesn't get you very far in New York. I feel bad for all the Diamonds and lifetime Diamonds out there. I guess this is Hilton's definition of loyalty during the pandemic!
I just got an email from Hilton signed by Chris Nassetta.
Food & Beverage Credit for Gold & Diamond Members. You asked for flexibility, and we’ve got it. Whether you look forward to breakfast or would rather skip it in favor of a refreshing beverage and afternoon snack, the choice is yours. In early July, we’ll begin offering a daily Food & Beverage Credit that will continue through the end of 2021. You can use this credit at the hotel brands where you currently receive a complimentary continental breakfast as your elite benefit of your membership. You’ll now be able to dine when and how you want. We will share more details in the coming weeks.
