I've never flown out of T7. I've flown out of T8 lots of times. There is NO CLEAR in T7 nor T8. Generally Pre-Check is the highest level. At T8 Vip check-in pax bypass the queue for precheck, I don't know about T7.
For several days prior to your departure date and time, look at JFK T7 wait times to get an idea of what to expect--for all terminals the average wait times are now around 15 min.
