Nothing was offered as an incentive to keep the card, and the conversation went south from there after I explained to the agent that Delta miles do not expire at the end of the year and she was full of it.
Funny that you would say this-- When my husband cancelled his card, he was told that the miles would expire within 1 year of cancelling the card. We went ahead and took a flight to Vegas because we didn't want to lose what we had worked to earn. I recently read that miles won't expire as long as you take a flight within 3 years.
