What is the best way to find these elusive premium US award openings? I can occasionally find economy rewards using the partner booking tool but I have never seen premium open space from any of the "east coast" airports and I use that loosely since I am including IAD, EWR, ORD, IAH in that search. I've never seen the low price award tickets even in econ from MCO or MIA. I've been trying to use the United award calendar to see when it has premium saver availability since nothing was pulling up in the fare classes mentioned previously. I am pretty flexible but the only thing I saw in premium saver was a flight leaving today, which showed up today. Any advice would be appreciated.
I think it depends on where you're going and the popularity of the destination. When I saw lots of J space from the East Coast to Maui, it was still January, before the vaccine was widely distributed. Now that travel has picked up, I would imagine finding reward space might even be harder than before the pandemic. Travel has rapidly resumed but there are fewer airplanes flying.
