these were booked (and then rebooked) through American before the introduction of the R class awards. I’m booked in U. Qatar Twitter support previously assigned both of our flights seats for us and I did my meal selections on their website.
It’s just once checked in that our second flight is wonky. In the app, website, and in their system I am showing as being booked and confirmed on both a flight from DOH to JNB on the 19th and 6 hours later, on the 20th. I wanted the 20th one because that got us into JNB at a decent hour and that’s where we were in a center q suite together. Now we’re on an earlier flight, still in q suites. But in different rows.
qatar customer support now says it’s an American issue and they don’t change flights (but not sure why American would either in the day if travel with no notice)
