There is no mainland in the Maldives. And there are no connections between the resort islands, so you always need to fly (or speedboat) back to Male and pay the transfer twice.
Hopefully Marriott will think of a better solution with offering some kind of transportation between their resorts and offer something in the future. But I doubt.
