Thanks all, yes 24B! I found it all...slightly annoying, but I guess as decent as a regional jet bus operation could be. Some more details from my experience in case it helps other folks. The remote stands are across the west alley from T2, lined up where the odd number T3 gates will be.
When we landed, there were 2 buses waiting for us at the stand, and we deplaned on airstairs. There wasn't really social distancing on the bus, but it seemed like they limited the number of passengers on board to the number of available seats, so it's not the most crowded airport bus I've ever been on. To get into the terminal, the buses dropped us off at 21B (where the TBIT bus is), and entered T2 from there.
For boarding, as others said, 24B was the bus boarding gate. To get to the tarmac, we went down a large ramp, maybe 8-10 times back and forth (and people complain about the JFK ramps! At least we only have to go down this one I suppose). There were 3 buses waiting for us to board; again they seemed to limit the number of passengers to the number of seats on the bus. I think a 4th bus was used near the end of the boarding process to bring over any stragglers. There was a visual quick boarding pass check when getting off the bus before getting on the plane to make sure we were all on the correct flight.
It all worked as well as one could hope I suppose, at least we didn't need to wait for the buses to arrive when boarding or de-planing. I do wish they just had the setup for walkable hardstands though (ala somehwere like LGB) even with a temp boarding building or something, but I guess this is what we'll have to deal with for a while.
(Also, T2 was crazy crowded midday on a Monday. Line for the Skyclub stretched along the mezzanine area, there were long lines at all the food places (Jersey Mike's seem to stretch halfway down the terminal, and not much empty seating. There was even 20 person line for the water fountain... I'm not looking forward to the LAX T2 experience as travel picks up more over the summer.)
