I booked a reservation at the Kimpton Born in Denver a few weeks after they were supposed to be open for a trip to Denver. They pushed out a couple of months and I got an email from the reservation manager telling me the property wouldn't be open and arranged an equivalent rate at the Kimpton Monaco nearby and would handle the logistics for me or said they'd also help move me somewhere else if the Monaco wouldn't work. They are 7 blocks apart and the Monaco was actually closer to the event we were in town for so it was fine with me. I also got an email from the GM apologizing with a certificate for a free night once they opened.

I'll note that I was Inner Circle when this happened, but I don't think that was a factor. I've had many great experiences at the Born (and many other Kimptons) with and without Inner Circle status.
