This whole issue of expiration is in a state of flux. When the VIP's first went electronic, AA stated that VIP's would expire 12 months after they posted to your account. Since then, they have had problems in getting the program into place where you could see your account balance. Until they fix this problem, AA is going to be very generous in the validity period of VIP's. After they new program is up in place, expect VIP's to go back to being valid for only 12 months after being issued. For VIP's credited to your account between now and the end of FEB, they will expire in FEB of 06. VIP's earned from Marh 05 through FEB of 06 will last until FEB 07--or until they get their new program into place and when that happens, all new VIP's will expire 12 months after you earn them.
