I also flew JFK-PBI last month and it was better than Y on AA, but wouldn't do it again. 45 minute wait for security (no tsa pre-check). JFK terminal was a zoo.

For NYC based travelers Mint makes sticking with AA much much easier.

Super interesting that it was cheaper booking through AA though. I’ll have to give that a look.
