We have 4 nights free on the front flying into HND - KIX home, thinking 2 nights using Hyatt points in Tokyo then 2 nights at the ANA in Kyoto.
I realize the LRX is a bit remote so we could get the lay of the land when staying at the ANA.
I could easily be convinced to stay 4 nights in Tokyo and figure out Kyoto from the Hilton.
Thanks

Can I use my 15k spend Chase Hyatt free night at the Hyatt Centric Ginza?

Hi,

From reading the above it sounds like you have 9 nights in Japan ( I assume you are flying in from the US given your profile)
Have you been to Tokyo before?
I love Tokyo and there is always lots to do ( and it will be a contrast with Kyoto)
In Tokyo I like the Conrad Tokyo in Shimbashi/Shiodome with the Hamarikyu and the Hilton in Shinjuku is good and convenient.

5 nights in Kyoto at the LXR sounds lovely and you should be able to explore Kyoto in a bit of detail ( whenever I go to Japan I always find something new so you will not see everything in one go). the hotel is a little bit on the outskirts but transport to the central kyoto should not be that bad and looks like you could walk to the kinaku-ji temple ( gold-leaf facade) but also allow time to relax in the hotel.

I second Nagasaki Joe's comments on the Conrad Osaka ( stayed there in 2019 for three nights after 10 days in Tokyo/Tokyo Disney) and loved the hotel and had a brief exploration of the city including osaka castle, dotonbori, umeda sky building and the aquarium.. However, it is easy to do too much in a short time.
You could do 4 nights tokyo, 5 nights kyoto
2 nights tokyo, 7 nights kyoto
2 nights tokyo 5 nights kyoto, 2 nights osaka

Enjoy!

Regards
