I called AMEX to switch my DL Platinum to Starwood Platinum. In the same phone call, as soon as the switch was made, the AMEX agent said I was prequalified to receive the DL card again, but that I should go with the GOLD and earn another 10,000 miles. Just received the GOLD card and am waiting for the 10,000 miles to post after first use. Exciting stuff and easy 10,000 miles.
