It doesn't mention anything about how they ended up in trouble with the U.S. over drugs in the first place; Aero Continente management has publicly alleged that LanPeru is responsible for getting them "on the list."
Aero Continente's "connections" were an open secret before LAN entered the market. They got themselves on the list and now seek to blame a Chilean company for the trouble. Its a familiar tune in South America frankly.
