Agreed. I can think of exactly once where I asked for and received late check out past 1, and got 3pm at the Conrad Beijing. Usually the answer is "no" or, "I can do 1pm, does that help?"
One of the things even Marriott does far better than Hilton. 4pm checkout as a Plat is pretty much a standard benefit if needed, even at resorts.
