I have a reservation for The Lodge at Spruce Peak this coming summer. While I know Stowe is a big ski destination, how is it in the summer? Any activities? We will have a small dog with us, but the hotel has a pet sitting service, so we can go just about anywhere.

We will be traveling from NJ and it's about a 6 hour drive. I'm thinking of stopping somewhere along the way for a night or two. We've been to Mystic before, anywhere else interesting on the way?
