Actually, when I was making the booking, I asked for the open jaw possibility as I don't need to return to TPE. According to UA, it isn't allowed. Must be an RT, thus the return to TPE. So I figured I could hopefully get off the plane in HKG, and if not, it would be cheaper to use the free ticket to get there and book another one from TPE-HKG, then simply booking BKK-HKG and forfeiting that additional free segment. Does anyone know whether TG might have a shipping service, where I could send my bag separately so as not to have checked bags and get off the plane? Or, as my award is a business class ticket, if I could buy a y class ticket to HKG for my bag, and use the biz class seat for myself?
