First room I was shown was dark, on the literal lowest floor (8) of the hotel, and was told 'this is our Globalist upgrade'.

I asked what else they had and, for a substantial nightly surcharge, we got moved to a nicer room. "We don't upgrade to anything higher than the junior suite"

The new room was nice, and the hard product is certainly good if you're willing to go over 1k a night.

BUT...the hotel is literally operating as a shell. People barely pick up the phone for housekeeping or front desk. DND is not respected.
There is nothing in the minibar. The Prive amenity is 2 bottles of water and 4 (count them) chocolates in a box.

Breakfast is via room service and despite Prive including a full breakfast (and Globalist supposedly getting breakfast) it was described as: "order 1 hot item, one hot beverage, and one cold beverage or you'll be charged extra".

There is no bar, there is no way to order a bottle of wine to the room past 8pm, and amazingly, they couldn't bring themselves to offer a bottle in an empty room as an amenity despite that (in my experience anyway) being brand standard at PH.

This was a massive mistake. Stay at the Mandarin. Stay at the Pierre. Stay anywhere else. Globalist is useless here. This is a NEVER AGAIN.
How many nights did you stay there? This hotel is one of the most pathetic flagship hotels in the world.
