I decided not to spend a penny there because they obviously didn't appreicate my spending on luau's, sunset cruises, etc. So I spent only a minimal $20 on valet parking and giftshop charges in June in order to get stay and FFN credit. Unfortunately it came back and bit me in the a$$ because they didn't give me stay/FFN credit, turns out both of those were "Ineligible Charges" as Karen would say.
So to learn a valuable lesson from my mistake, during this next FFN promo, first thing when you set your foot in the door on an AWARD stay, WALK OVER TO THAT PHONE, PICK IT UP, AND DIAL 411 AND ASK FOR THE NUMBER OF THE NEAREST PIZZA HUT!!!
ABSOLUTELY!!!
See, in your situation, as is mine, although you perhaps introduced the lunacy of it better than I, they are being penny wise and pound foolish. It does not take much to provide courtesy points for just such a mistake. -- what are we talking about in any event -- 1,000 points in my case and 2,000 in yours! They give that out for crummy properties that charge $35 on PLN!!
Come on Hyatt, get you darn priorities straight!! Here are people who are Diamonds and they are actually spending
SIGNIFICANT SUMS OF $$ in good faith, and they are being denied GP points that they believed were rightfully due them, all the while you are rewarding "nickel and dime" folks who complain about not getting their Offers Around the World bonuses for PLN stays!!!
Geez Louise, Hyatt, have you got your priorities dead wrong!
I must say, however, that Hyatt GP has not sunk to the level of HHonors which has made the stupidest rule I ever have heard of!
Unless you have booked a room at a Hilton property thru a valid portal -- their internet site or their phone agents (or I assume a travel agent) -- any other such rates will not earn HHonors points and neither will you earn points on
any incidentals you might incur -- meals included!!
Fine, Hilton is not known for its hotel restaurants in any event, so I will go to another venue to spend my cash and not spend one single red cent at any HHonors property if staying on an ineligible rate.
You reap what you sow. Q.E.D.
