I was just searching for Canyon Suites Aug 25-31. If paying by cash the cash rate is less than the cash rate when doing a Cash and Points rate. How can this be?

This is true of all room levels, but as an example under Deals and Packages the 1 bedroom King Golf Suite view ground floor room is $573/night for a stay total of $3442 + taxes. Under Standard Rates that room is $3,928

Now when you want to use Points, that same exact room at the Cash and Points rate is $4,626 + 470,000 points. Seriously, what am I missing here? Is this a known issue? How can the cash copay be more than the same room without using any points?

BTW I joined FT way back at the beginning, have always monitored it and followed it but have not posted in decades. Good to be back
