Driving the Dalton Highway

I have been planning a two week Alaska trip in June. My original thought was to visit Barrow but it still somewhat closed due to Covid. My husband wants to visit the Gate of Artic. We have since decided to just focus on Fairbank, Gate of Artic and Anchorage. Driving the Dalton highway seems like a good way to reach Gate of Artic. Do you have recommendation on who to rent a car from? Based on what I have read so far, I need to rent a gravel car. I assume Hertz, Avis, etc do not allow their cars on Dalton. Is any part of the Dalton paved?

We are planning to drive only to Atigun Pass, return back, and overnight at Wiseman or Coldfoot. We figure Wiseman is good base for exploring the area near Gate of Artic. Any suggestions and recommendations?
