Sure. I take it you don't really have much idea of things actually work. He's not asking them for money back for a service he received, he just wants his receipt. And if that means getting their attention where it hurts, so be it. No business where you're worth way more to them than a measly $80 bucks is going to ban you for asking for a receipt. No matter how you go about it.
