I use the aisle at JFK for leisure rentals, because traditionally it had the best experience of the three. That said - it's been awfully slim. I also even try always picking up in the morning, mid-week, before the rush of vacation renters. Even so, of the last three times I've been there, the aisle has either been completely empty, or very limited selection - e.g, one Chevy Malibu and a pickup truck. The completely empty time I had even made a specific reservation for a 'Premium' car, but of course, the reservation wasn't really a reservation in the common sense of the word. I was told there were two possible cars they could get; a mustang convertible, or a tiny Audi with no trunk. Not at all what I had been hoping for, but at least it had wheels and moved. The people there were as helpful as possible and did the best they could under the circumstances - it's just the inventory isn't there these days.

I don't think there's any really good options for the aisle at this point. Your best bet is to give yourself time to get _something_, and then hope to have the time to check back and swap it for something else if it's wholly unsuitable. Everyone is trying to get the heck out of the city.
