I would write to DL and complain. I find it hard to believe that this is policy and if it is it needs to be changed. You simply can't offer a quality service and then come out with $hit like that. Frankly I would have pulled the purser aside and roasted them if I had heard that comment. If they had told me it was DL policy I'd have roasted DL too.
