Basically Delta is a nobody in SBA. They dropped the CR2 SLC-SBA service many years back, though there was the codeshare on American Eagle out of LAX for a while after the SLC-SBA flights were dropped.
The restart lasted less than a year, so not much chance for Delta to build a local customer base. I expect most of their traffic was folks visiting the area and not originating.
With Southwest in the airport now, I don't expect Delta back. Southwest is grabbing space at California airports like a dog marking all of the trees in the backyard.
I have a trip to SB county in June, so I expect I will fly into LAX and try to avoid arrival during heavy traffic times. The plus is I am on the A359 in the suites both ways ATL-LAX and back. Yay!
Cheers,
