How's breakfast and happy hour in the Club? I understand it is closed due to Covid-19 and that there's a make-up lounge in the lobby.
I stayed there in January 2021 and the hotel is still operating the same way. Club Lounge would be open some nights (usually at weekends) when enough Club rooms are booked. When Club is open, it is only for Snack hour, breakfast will still be served in the restaurant. Snack hour in the lounge is a served buffet, ± the same it was before the pandemic.
When the Club is closed, you can take advantage of the Snack hour in their main restaurant (I think 5.30 PM to 7.30 PM). There is a dedicated part in the restaurant where you can seat, you can also choose the terrace. There is no buffet, but you are offered a menu with 3-4 little dishes and 1-2 desserts, you can order whatever you want from the menu. You may also order red wine or white wine, sparkling wine, Caipirinhas, any soft drinks and the staff will offer refills throughout this time frame. Servers were very friendly, attentive and efficient, no wait, good food, and Front Office manager came by to make sure I was having a great stay. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, buffet and some a-la-carte items, great offering vs what you can find in Europe during the pandemic.
For the pool and gym, you are supposed to book a slot in advance, but the staff will let you in even if you did not book if it's not so crowded.
This property is a very good Hyatt with friendly and dedicated staff, service is excellent, rooms are a bit dated but decently maintained and with all amenities you would expect. Covid-19 situation has been well handled, with management taking appropriate measures but not seeking to cut costs wherever possible nor deteriorating guest experience.
