They're trying - no telling if $500 hiring bonuses will help when you're short 6,000 employees. Think they're facing the same issue I discussed with a local restaurant owner this week in Benicia - she can't get folks to apply in this market and no doubt extended unemployment benefits factor into it.
The TSA wanted 6,000 new officers by summer. Most positions are unfilled as airlines expect a passenger surge.
