Yes, short routes with high frequencies are prime picking to have their aircraft taken for a swap.
When WN had flights between DAL and HOU every 30-60 minutes all day, before DAL opened up and when so many people going to/from DAL connected in HOU to travel outside the Wright Amendment states, the DAL-HOU and HOU-DAL flights were the first to have their aircraft "taken" for swaps, since everyone on the cancelled flight could be reaccomodated relatively quickly.
