Another thing to consider is how comfortable you both are seeing each other in the shower. Because for the beach villas, the showers are outside but quite visible to anyone else in the unit unless you pull a couple of curtains that only partially restrict the view of the person showering.
My recollection of the water villa (now under renovation) is that there was more showering privacy.
