are we sure that is actually May 2, 2021, and not just a year old, as in May 2, 2020?
My last trip through EWR checking a bag end March 2021, I saw caution tape on one of the level 3 doors (the one between recently-Premier, now-International desks), which obviously was blocking access. I couldn't see any reason why they did that. I didn't look at all of the doors on level 3 though, as I had been dropped off on level 2.
