Avios Peak v. Off Peak Anomaly
First time poster here and I've not seen this discussion anywhere else.
I phoned up BAEC recently to book a multi-city 241 Avios redemption booking for March 2022. My outbound flight at the start of March was off peak but my return on 29th March 2022 was charged at peak rates for Avios. When I go online I see 28th; 29th and 30th March 2022 showing as off peak for Avios redemption flights.
I was assured by the helpful agent that their documentation shows these dates at the end of March 2022 as peak dates as does the calendar on the headforpoints website and therefore the transaction was correct. There clearly is an anomaly somewhere as if I'd been able to complete the transaction online I would have been debited considerably fewer Avios (15,000 to be exact) which is a sizable amount!
Clearly something is 'wrong' in BA systems somewhere but I don't know which is 'wrong' (online or offline) or who could resolve.
I guess I'm happy getting the flights booked at full price for the return sector (and even happier if they go) but still a bit peeved that it has cost so many more Avios because I needed to make the booking via the phone lines. Anybody experienced anything like this before?
