Le Méridien is in the same category as Westin in that they’re Marriott’s distinctive premium brands, while Sheraton is a classic premium brand. I would think that based on the finishings, interior design and staff, as well as some communication I’ve had with the pre-opening team, this hotel will be positioned above the Sheraton and more in line with the Westin as a higher-quality option.
It may be a Cat 5 now, but just as other properties have started low [i.e. LM New York Central Park], I’d expect it to move up not long after opening.
