I have a LifeMiles award flight booked for DXB-IST-JFK/EWR-BOS. I'm now looking to cancel the booking, and noticed that the EWR-BOS segment was cancelled and replaced with a different flight arriving 2.5 hours later.

Does that schedule change help me at all with avoiding the cancellation fee?
