I can confirm AA does not offer wristbands. Arrival at HNL on AA5 from DFW had us line up in very organized lines but clearly different from the pre-cleared/wristband lines.
There was no flight ahead of us so there wasn't really a wait and they seemed to have at least 20+ people checking.
It seemed you could show a printed copy if you didn't have the app but it looked like they were pulling people aside who didn't have the app already downloaded with the QR ccode.
Overall really simple without any type of delay but a reason perhaps not choose AA if the arrival was a peak time.
