I'm from Portland, OR which is a VERY friendly bike city and am relocating to Maui so my baseline is definitely a bit different than most. That said, Maui seems to be decent. There are a fair amount of paths and trails along roads. It's nothing like Portland but is okay. For example, there is a paved path adjacent to the entire highway from Kihei up to Kahului area (where all the big stores are). It's +/- 6 miles and the trail is heavily used by joggers and bikers. My wife and kids have moved over and I'm going back and forth. I'm looking forward to getting our shipping container is a few weeks so we'll have bikes and can start exploring.
