I have been tracking a B717 and the 1CD are blocked while other other F seats show occuopied. Yet they are still offering first class for sale. I guessed that they were indeed holding these seat assignments back for assignment at the gate if any. I suspect this is a hold-over for the extra rest service they offer the FA enroute /crew for any unsold inventory.

Has anybody bought F where no seats are available for assignment and they only got a seat assignment at the gate in 1CD?
