I've had 7 stays here since last summer. Twice I used a TSU and both times was confirmed into a Miami Suite (a standard suite). My Crown Suite (a premium suite) upgrade was just a lucky complimentary (non-TSU supported upgrade) on check-in. They proactively offered me a King Deluxe or the chance to wait a while for a suite. On my other stays, I received upgrades to a King Deluxe (twice), a King Oceanview with Balcony (once), and a regular King with an ocean view (once, although I did decline further upgrade in lieu of a late checkout). IME, this property will try to work with Globalists but - as you correctly point out - I would not expect a suite upgrade if you don't have it pre-booked (either using cash, points, or a TSU). Also, don't be like the Globalist I encountered last month who cut the entire check-in line and was literally screaming at the front desk that he was "entitled" to a suite because his Hyatt app showed one was available.
