It will code as travel only if underlying merchant is a travel company, i.e.Uber, Airbnb.
I usually use AT&T AM at MPX for Walmart, and get 3x. Also you can try Fluz, it has different WM GCs, which code a little bit different (grocery, office, restaurant), and you can get up to 5x for those, depending on a card you use.
