Yet, I’m sure there are many like me who were fortunate to travel some for work and allow the points to accumulate. Now, in retirement, with limited resources, it is about what I can do with my points that would otherwise not be possible. I don’t know what my points calculated out to be; but I had some memorable stays.
I agree with everything in this chain! Chasing value per point redemptions can be silly sometimes. If an old American Courtyard cost $10,000 night but “only” 85,000 points a night, it is still a bad redemption IMO. Value is in the eye of the beholder! I think valuing points is much less important for people that have already earned their points, especially through the base loyalty program!
