What else am I missing?
The only way to transfer DC rewards into Thankyou points is by also holding a Thankyou points earning card and the Premier has a $95 fee just like the Venture, so that's a wash.

I think the reason people are so excited by Cap One's changes is that they keep improving the card. From a card that zero transfer partners 3 years ago to one that now has more than Citi (as you said), that's a big improvement and shows they want to play in the big leagues. Except for Citi allowing DC cash back transfers into Thankyou points, they haven't really improved their cards in a while. There have been rumours for years that they would add AA as a transfer partner, but it's never happened.

You may not care about TSA precheck or Global Entry, but most travelers do. Citi dropped most of their travel and shopping protections...Cap One still has theirs.

As always, YMMV. No one card is perfect for every one.
