Here in Maricopa County (population 4.8 million), we were averaging 9000 cases and over 100 deaths per day in January.

And yet, my GF's friends are asking isn't she scared to be traveling to Bangkok with all the Covid right now . . . .

It's insane. There's really no evidence even that surfaces are a meaningful vector of transmission. There is just so much misinformation in Thailand right now.
