I wonder if we can directly book the appointment 48h prior the flight or too risky or they suggest a day according to the flight schedule? You might have already written the place in the NL/KLM thread so forgive me, but do you remember the name of that "cheap" Covid center?
It’s
PHEOC - Migombani in Stone Town. You cannot make appointment. When I was there, sampling was only done in the morning (it may have changed). All samples are sent to DAR by plane for analysis. If you pay on-site, it’s Visa card only (no MasterCard or Amex, no cash). If you want to pay by another mean than Visa card, you need to go to the national bank before going to the test center and present the receipt to the test center. Also, bring a photocopy of your passport (there is a way to do it on site but if you bring one, you will avoid one hassle !). On this link (in French), if you scroll down, you will see pictures of the place.

For the timing of the test, be really careful depending on the requirement of your destination or transit point. Do it at the earliest possible time depending on the requirement, and do not hesitate to tell them when you need the results.
