I'm going to be in Egypt and Dubai here shortly and would like to be able to use my phone (T-Mobile, Blackberry 7100t). T-Mobile has a service called WorldClass that will charge me the "low" price of only $1.99 per minute (yes, that is sarcasm!). I'm trying to evaluate my other options.
- Is staying with T-Mobile's WorldClass system my best bet?
- How about buying a local SIM card while I'm there -- how does that work? Do I just send my U.S. colleagues the new SIM number and they can call me at international rates from the U.S.?
- If I do buy a local SIM card, what prices are associated with it, particularly for incoming calls?
- Can I buy a SIM card that covers most the Middle East (In this case, Dubai and Cairo) or do I need to visit stores in each of these countries?
Thanks for any insight you can provide.
