TK's pre-COVID service hasn't entirely returned and most bloggers have reported that.
It's completely true that compared to the past;
In Business Class;
- No PDB is being offered
- No appetizer/dessert trolley and individual mezze style ( little little in the middle style ) service
- No food plated onboard; all food items are prepared and plated in the catering facility
- No dine-on-demand
100% accurate. Exactly what I experienced. It is the expectation that should be set for this point in time.
It'll be a darn good day when the plating come back, and I no longer have to pull off a paper seal band, then ridiculous plastic covers off of the main tray, the entrée, and all the sides, and pull the utensils out of a plastic bag, and remove the paper off the top of the butter. Equally ridiculous to serve some entrees with foil still wrapped around it. Other airlines manage to not do this.
Multiple TK long-haul J legs coming up in 6 weeks, hoping against hope service levels improve
I'll side-note that I had a very good experience with the TK call center an hour ago. Salvaged a long-haul J itinerary riddled with involuntary changes and cancellations. Rep was professional and competent and I was very happy at the end of the call. For all the bad comments on their call center(s), my experiences have been positive. So there's that.
