If Germany thinks that there are potential problems with pax on a flight arriving from a Schengen destination the BuPo officers meet the flight and do an adhoc check before you are allowed into the concourse. So they can do that to flights arriving from Greece to do spot checks. This was evident in 2015/16 when refugees were making their way north from the med countries. If you just pulled out your national ID card you could quickly pass, even if you fit the cliché look of a refugee like me.

Right now the BuPo is meeting nearly all flights from outside Europe this way and are doing spot checks on so called high incidence and virus variant countries. I suppose they will do the same on flights from Greece soon.
