BA mistaken cancellation email
Yesterday I received cancellation emails for 2 flights to Malta offering alternative days. Today I have received an email titled "A message from British Airways about your flight". The body of the email reads "
Yesterday , you will have been informed that your flight to Malta was cancelled. Unfortunately, these services were cancelled in error and these have now been reinstated back into our schedule. If you would wish to travel on your original Malta service, we will be able to move your booking back free of charge, subject to availability and ticket validity. For more information or to discuss your options please visit Manage My Booking on ba.com, give us a ring on 0800 727 800 from within the UK, or +44 (0)203 250 0145 from outside the UK. If you booked via a travel agent, please speak to them directly to discuss arrangements for your booking.
We’re very sorry for any impact this may have on your travel plans and thank you for your patience and understanding. "
This error I assume allows me to get a refund or change date as MMB shows the flights as cancelled and they have offered alternative dates. I wonder if this is just a mistake on Malta or is it more widespread.
