I've been trying to reserve a car to be picked up from a Hertz HLE location for two days. The first attempt, the site came back and said they had a network error and to please complete my reservation with hertz.com. Of course, I was already on hertz.com. This morning I tried again and the site came back saying they'd detected a duplicate reservation, such that the current attempt would not be completed to avoid a duplicate reservation, and to check my email for a confirmation of my reservation. There is no email. They suggested calling (877) 826-8782. That number says they are "currently experiencing system problems and cannot process your call". This issue seems more serious than just the IT department. If no one can book a rental online, the company, for the moment at least, has stopped doing business altogether. Has this hit the news anywhere? Or is it just me experiencing this?
